Dr. Manish Valiathan completed his initial dental and orthodontic training at Manipal University , a premier institution in the south of India. He joined Case Western Reserve University in 1996 and retrained in dentistry and orthodontics.

In 2000, he joined the faculty at Case, where he remains active. He holds joint appointments in the Departments of Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry and Plastic Surgery. He directs the orthodontics and orthognathic surgery team , co-directs the Craniofacial Anomalies Team and is responsible for all the orthodontic instruction for the Pediatric Dentistry Program at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. He is a Senior Associate of the Bolton Brush Growth Study Center and an active member of the Craniofacial Biology Research group at C.W.R.U. Dr. Valiathan is a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics.

The subjects range from surgical and adult orthodontic treatment to early orthodontic treatment applications in children affected with congenital anomalies of the face. He has spoken on the newer advances in research and their impact in orthodontics. Dr. Valiathan is well published in orthodontic journals.

Married to Madhavi, he lives in Sagamore Hills with their daughter Diya and son Arjun.
